All of that to say while vinyl and cassette ruled the day commercially in the 70s and 80s there was no debate as to which format sounded better. The problem here is that it had a tremendous result on the audio quality. Thanks to superior sound quality and a susceptibility to scratching records are still first choice for many on the club scene. But it will sound. Cassettes on the other hand are nowhere to be found.

There are many questions that can be answered definitively on the differences between cds and vinyl but if what you seek is proof that one sounds better than the other you might be quite disappointed. The cassette is 40 years old and in my opinion the sound quality is still above the average. Vintage music perhaps the growth in vinyl sales has made cassette tapes comeback inevitable.
